Business leaders talk sex and rock - 30-01-2007 | A scheme to encourage business people to read more, begins on Wednesday with a breakfast seminar at the Hard Rock Cafe in Leeds.
Authors will come to Leeds and talk about their work and the first event features Peter Cook, author of Sex, Leadership and Rock and Roll.
His book offers lessons in leadership skills, and uses the model of rock and roll to explain the workings of the world of business.
At the event writer Peter will cut through the jargon of leadership and personnel development theory.
Michael Millward, of Abeceder, who organised the event, said: "Peter will explain in his quirky but challenging and intelligent way how to mix leading edge business concepts with the wisdom of rock and roll to create a commercial advantage.
"Rock and roll has been one of the great agents for change over the last 50 years. Just imagine the radical changes you could create in your business with a little rock and roll attitude.
"Peter is both an academic and a rock musician. He has blended these two diverse worlds, dumping the language of prophets, consultants, and management gurus to create an accessible approach to management thinking in which MBA stands for Management By Attitude."
The event is held at the Hard Rock Cafe, Albion Street, at 8.45am on Wednesday.
