Michael Millward speaks at CIPD National Event - 19-07-2010 |
Abeceder managing director and North Yorkshire CIPD Branch Chairman Michael Millward was today involved in the CIPD National Induction day for new branch committee members.
In a presentation that some attendees described as the highlight of the day Mr Millward described how the North Yorkshire branch had successfully engaged with members of the branch.
Mr Millward described how the branch looked in towards the membership and backwards towards the CIPD headquarters in Wimbledon in order to achieve a match between supply and demand. He also described how the branch looked to use other channels outside the CIPD to communicate with members.
He admitted that member apathy will probably always be a reality every professional institute has to accept, but we must not stop promoting continuous professional development. Learning is not just about training courses, it is about finding new and better ways to do every day activities, yet so many members don’t realise just how many resources their annual membership fee gives them access to.
